- מְסוּכָּןm. (סָכַן II) critically ill. Gitt.VII, 5 אף המ׳ the same applies to one taken sick; Y. ib. 48a, sq. מ׳ כל שקפץוכ׳ msukkan is he who was suddenly overcome, contrad. to חוֹלֶה. Ber.62b והוא סבר מ׳ הוא and he thought his health was endangered (by a delay); Tam.27b דילמא מ׳ הוא; a. fr.Fem. מְסוּכֶּנֶת. Ḥull.II, 6 השוחט את המ׳ he who slaughters a beast which threatens to die.(Midr. Prov. ch. 22 מסוכן בחייו, v. סָכַן I).
